My name is Kathryn Young and I am a Special Needs Therapist and Early Intervention Specialist  who has worked with many children over the last 30+ years. The amazing little people who have crossed my path have had a variety of disabilities, learning difficulties and mental health concerns. I have a particular interest in working with children with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and those with sensory and anxiety issues.

I have always been inspired to look for reasons why children learn and behave as they do and I love to find their underlying concerns. My curiosity to find out why children develop as they do led me to do a Graduate Diploma in Psychology which has provided me with more insight into why children display such interesting behaviours and always question the 'WHY' and what are they trying to communicate!

I not only teach but I also live with the highs and lows of having a child with a combination of medical, physical and intellectual disabilities. The day to day ups and downs have provided me with a wealth of knowledge, compassion and understanding of other families living with a child with difficulties.

I want to offer support, education and practical strategies to allow you to have fun with your child! So you don't feel so overwhelmed, so you know you are not on your own and and a little direction can make the world of difference! Whether you are a parent, carer or educator, increasing your understanding of your child's needs can change the way you believe they can thrive!
