We are a small local service who focusses on spending time with children, families and their supports to truly understand and walk beside them, with a strength based approach.

Our aim is to work in partnership with families and the community to improve participation, build and support a more inclusive environment, with the child at the centre.

Our mission is to provide quality early childhood intervention services as well as therapy and assessment for all children across the local community.

We are looking for compassionate, understanding therapists

who have a commitment to see every child as a positive, growing individual.

To be able to build trusted, nurturing relationships with families, carers and educators as part of a growing multidisciplinary team.

The Roles

The roles will involve delivering a range of educational therapy through 1:1 support, small group programs with children and liaising with regional schools. Our business also provides education, staff mentoring and training.

All with the goal of building strengths and capacity for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (AS), developmental disabilities, sensory processing difficulties, anxiety and behavioural concerns.

Current Vacancies

Early Intervention Specialist 

Permanent part-time position with flexible hours.

Qualifications: Min.

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

Occupational Therapist

Permanent part-time or full time position.

Qualifications:

Masters of Occupational Therapy and relevant professional registration and peak body memberships.

Psychologist

Permanent part-time or full time position.

Qualifications:

Masters of Clinical Psychology and relevant professional registration and peak body memberships.

Experience with child assessments. 

Key skills/qualities

  • Patience, energy, compassion, curiosity and a comprehensive understanding of child development.

  • Commitment to early childhood intervention principles, inclusive practice, and a family-centred approach.

  • Build genuine rapport with a broad range of children and their families and work through challenging and complex situations.

  • Provide supports to meet the holistic needs of children 0-9years (Early Intervention Specialist) and all children (OT and Psychologist) who have a broad range of disabilities.

  • Assess and identify needs and strengths to develop and reach functional and practical goals for the child and families.

  • Communicate and work with Early Childhood Services, schools, therapists and other government services.

  • Build capacity of families to advocate for themselves to better access services, education options and community resources.

  • Organise time and set priorities.

  • Independently manage own case load and work within a small team environment.

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments. (Clinical roles)

  • Write and contribute to high quality reports.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, using technology effectively.

 

Essential Criteria​

  • ​Tertiary qualification as above.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in disability.

  • A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check. 

  • Current drivers licence and own car with comprehensive car insurance. 

 

Desirable Criteria​

  • Fundamental understanding of NDIS Framework.

  • Current First Aid Certificate.

  • Desire to be involved in facilitating growth of a small business.
